AdaniConneX will combine the strengths of both Adani and EdgeConneX and focus on developing and operating new data centers in multiple markets inside India. To address the rapidly growing need for high quality and reliable IT infrastructure both firms are committed to investing significant capital into the joint venture over the next decade to build out India’s leading green data center platform. The partnership will leverage Adani’s expertise in full-stack energy management, renewable power and real estate development, as well as its experience in building and managing large infrastructure projects throughout India.

To help facilitate the use of sustainable, renewable technologies, AdaniConneX will establish captive renewable power plants that will exclusively support AdaniConneX data center facilities, ensuring that sustainable power sources are not diluted by older, non-renewable sources.

Data Center Markets

AdaniConneX will focus on building a network of hyperscale data centers in India, starting with the Chennai, Navi Mumbai, Noida Delhi, Vizag and Hyderabad markets. Development and construction at these sites have already begun with the first facility to be ready for service in Chennai in 2022.

AdaniConneX will also develop a portfolio of Edge data centers strategically located throughout India that will support the need for more proximate capacity – critical for providers and companies outside traditional core markets. These Edge sites are designed and planned to easily scale with demand and can become significant data center campuses in their own right. Importantly, this pan-Indian platform of hyperscale and hyperlocal data centers can be powered by sustainable and renewable energy as carbon-neutral infrastructure is a key mission for both companies.

All AdaniConneX data centers will include EdgeOS, the industry-leading DCIM platform that allows businesses to perform remote operations and management for any EdgeConneX data center from virtually anywhere.

The global datacenter industry generally grows with a CAGR averaging 7%, while India as a country is growing at 23%, matching China’s growth.”
