Independently validated waste diversion across our global data center portfolio, in support of our Customers, People, Planet mission.
Sustainability is built into how we design, build, and operate every data center. Our Customers, People, Planet mission guides everything we do, including how we manage waste across our global portfolio.
Through our Zero Waste and Landfill Diversion program, we are working site by site to reduce what we send to landfills, track our progress transparently, and hold ourselves accountable through independent, third-party verification. By grounding our commitments in verified data and transparent progress, we’re showing communities that responsible growth is not only what we promise, it’s how we operate.
We believe credibility matters as much as progress. That’s why every diversion claim on this page is backed by UL Solutions’ UL 2799 Environmental Claim Validation, an independent review process that verifies our waste-diversion data before we ever share it publicly.

UL 2799 is a globally recognized environmental claim validation standard. It measures the percentage of a facility’s waste that is diverted from landfill disposal through reuse, recycling, composting, or other approved diversion methods, and it requires independent third-party review before any claim can be made public. Depending on the diversion rate a site achieves, it may qualify for one of two distinct designations
UL 2799
Awarded to sites that have demonstrated a verified, measurable landfill diversion rate
UL 2799 | 90%+
Reserved for sites that achieve a diversion rate of 90% or greater
We are intentional about the terminology we use for each site. These are best-in-class standards that we strive to achieve. Maintaining this distinction protects the integrity of our claims and ensures our customers, investors, and partners can trust every number we publish.
Anyone can report a waste-diversion number. Far fewer can prove it. Independent validation from UL Solutions means our diversion rates aren’t self-reported estimates, they’re audited, verified figures that stand up to scrutiny.
Customers and stakeholders get externally validated evidence, not internal projections.
Every certification creates a measurable baseline our sites can build on year over year.
We say exactly what we’ve achieved, no more, no less. Overstating our progress isn’t part of how we do business.
