At EdgeConneX, we believe Safety is more than a priority—it’s a core value. During Construction Safety Week 2025, we reaffirmed our strong commitment to safety excellence. This annual industry-wide event provided an opportunity for our teams, our customers and trusted partners, Burr Computer Environments Inc. (BCEI) and Winthrop Technologies, to recommit upholding the highest safety standards at every stage of our data center construction projects worldwide.
A Proactive Approach to Safety
At our data center construction sites during the week—located in Atlanta, Amsterdam, Chicago, Cyberjaya, Dublin, Frankfurt, Jakarta, and Santiago, as well as various locations in India with our Joint Venture Partner, AdaniConneX—the EdgeConneX team, along with our partners and many customers, began each day by carefully reviewing detailed plans. This practice reinforced our commitment to safety excellence, ensuring that effective measures, processes, and best practices implemented throughout the year were followed. By doing so, we not only anticipated potential challenges but also established strong risk control measures.
“Owning your part is critical for ensuring a proactive and safe work environment. Every team member is empowered to identify risks and cultivate actions. This fosters a culture of accountability. Our goal is simple—to ensure everyone goes home safely daily.” – Jackson Menke, Director of Global Safety, EdgeConneX
This proactive approach extends beyond EdgeConneX itself. Two of our pivotal construction partners echoed this focus on collaboration and shared responsibility.
“Safety is a shared mission. Our alignment with EdgeConneX guarantees that we deliver world-class projects without compromising safety.” – Jason Crowell, Director of Environmental Health & Safety – Burr Computer Environment, Inc. (BCEI)
“The safety culture we adopt together ensures that teams at every level, from engineers to the workforce onsite, uphold best practices in our day-to-day operations.” – Ivan Conway, EHS Director, Winthrop Technologies
Global Safety Excellence on Display
We began the week at one of our AdaniConneX sites in Hyderabad, India, the first data center in the country to receive a five-star grade by the British Safety Council. To reinforce our commitment to excellence, we conducted safety briefings with our customers, engineers, workforce teams, stakeholders, and other participants. These discussions highlighted that a robust safety culture is built on careful planning and a shared sense of responsibility.
Site management walked through the project areas, inspecting construction equipment, inclines for slope stability, and electrical installations, while discussing opportunities for improvement with teams onsite. One stand-out initiative included rewarding workers who demonstrated safe practices with gold coin stickers as part of the “Zero Harm” booklet initiative. Other activities included a safety quiz competition to spread awareness, hands-on training for height work safety, and engaging engineers and crew to enhance their knowledge and ensure preparedness.
Brian Green, Executive Vice President, Engineering and Ops for EdgeConneX, applauded the engagement, saying, “Safety is in our DNA. These activities exemplify how collaboration, recognition, and ongoing education help build a safety-first mindset across all our global teams.”
The Power of Collaboration
Weeklong efforts culminated in a powerful closing ceremony recognizing workers, engineers, and support staff who upheld the highest safety standards. This celebration underscored our shared mission to deliver projects prioritizing well-being and operational excellence.
Jackson reflected on the week’s impact, stating, “Safety isn’t just about following rules; it’s about a commitment to excellence at every level of the organization. We redefine global construction by building not only state-of-the-art data centers but also a culture of Safety.”
The alignment between EdgeConneX, BCEI, and Winthrop has been equally commendable. “The partnership with EdgeConneX allows us to implement innovative safety solutions, ensuring safe work environments for everyone involved,” commented Jason Crowell, BCEI.
Ivan Conway, Winthrop added, “This week reinforced that safety isn’t just a protocol; it’s a way of life.”

Construction Safety Week 2025 was a testament to how EdgeConneX and our partners collaborate to safeguard teams and ensure outstanding project delivery. The shared commitment to safety excellence remains a driving force behind our success.
