Aloha from Hawaii! EdgeConneX was honored to receive two awards at the Pacific Telecommunications Council (PTC) 2023 Awards Ceremony, held in Honolulu, Hawaii. These awards acknowledge the high-caliber work being done within the industry to advance the ethical development and use of ICT for collaboration, knowledge, and outreach.
D&I Leadership Award
Our first congratulations are to Phillip Marangella, Chief Marketing & Product Officer, who won the PTC’23 Outstanding Diversity and Inclusion Champion Award. Customers, People, Planet are at the core of what drives our operations, and is demonstrated through the leadership of Marangella. Phillip works to cultivate diversity and inclusion by pioneering initiatives that impact not just our company but the whole data center industry, including programs such as:
- The Capstone Project – a year-long Digital Infrastructure-focused project in conjunction with iMasons that provides scholarships and internships for students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The program aims to train and recruit a more diverse workforce and involves mentoring college students to create a pipeline of candidates for internships and full-time positions across the data center industry.
- EdgeConneX Salutes, an initiative in partnership with Salute Mission Critical, which is an organization that trains veterans to work in data centers globally. These veterans work with the same integrity, dedication, discipline, precision, and high-quality approach as they once did while serving their respective countries.
- WomenConneX, which is dedicated to closing the gender gap across the industry.
PTC’23 Outstanding Start-up Award
We are also proud to highlight that AdaniConneX won the PTC’23 Outstanding Start-up Award. Since its formation as a 50/50 joint venture by Adani Enterprises and EdgeConneX, AdaniConneX has achieved many major milestones working towards its mission to enable India’s digital potential through a reliable and sustainable data center infrastructure platform. AdaniConneX’ goal is to build a 1 GW+ Green Data Center platform, relying on renewable energy sources to help bring cloud, content, and data closer to customers.
The company has been on a significant growth trajectory with notable milestones, including the opening of its Chennai 1 data center, a hyperscale data center campus that will scale up to 33 MW (IT Load) at total capacity. In addition, AdaniConneX is building hyperscale campuses across all major towns, including Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Noida, Pune, Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Vizag, and many more.
As EdgeConneX CEO Randy Brouckman noted, “I’m excited about what’s coming next as we have an aggressive data center expansion plan and tremendous customer pipeline that will quickly establish AdaniConneX as the leading digital infrastructure platform for all of India.”
Awards such as these exemplify the high-performance work ethic and culture our two companies embody in our journey of excellence.
